Q3 2024 China Conveyor Belt Market Analysis
According to statistics from China Customs and Guomaitong Big Data, China's conveyor belt import and export market showed a dual decline in the third quarter of 2024, influenced by global economic fluctuations, changes in the international trade environment, and adjustments in demand from various countries. The data reveals that in Q3 2024, China's total conveyor belt imports decreased by 10.05% to 8,300 tons, while import value declined by 6.37% to $22 million. Although the total import volume fell, the average import price increased by 4.08% to $2,651 per ton, indicating that the demand for high-end conveyor belt products remains steady and the overall price level of imported products has risen.
On the export side, China’s conveyor belt exports in Q3 2024 declined by 4.72% year-on-year to 322,000 tons, while export revenue dropped by 11.89% to $685 million. The average export price also fell by 7.52% to $2,129 per ton, reflecting intensified global market competition and weakened demand in some countries. Among the export subcategories, steel cord conveyor belts were significantly affected. In Q3, the export volume of steel cord conveyor belts fell by 16.54% to 60,800 tons, with export revenue declining by 22.35% to $167 million. The average export price decreased by 6.96% to $2,740 per ton. Major export markets such as Australia, Russia, the UAE, and Chile saw substantial declines in demand, whereas Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Turkey, and Vietnam experienced varying levels of growth, indicating a shift in the global market landscape.
In contrast, the export fluctuations in textile conveyor belts were relatively mild. In Q3 2024, the export volume of textile conveyor belts declined slightly by 1.92% to 249,000 tons, while export revenue dropped by 8.89% to $468 million. The average export price decreased by 7.11% to $1,880 per ton. Among key export markets, Vietnam, India, and Germany saw significant growth in import volumes, while the U.S. market remained stable. Meanwhile, Indonesia, Japan, Canada, and Mexico showed slight increases in imports.
Overall, the global conveyor belt market is undergoing structural adjustments, with demand trends varying across different regions. Chinese conveyor belt enterprises should closely monitor international market trends, optimize product structures, and enhance product competitiveness. In particular, companies should accelerate technological innovation and the development of intelligent conveyor belt solutions to meet the growing global demand for high-performance conveyor belts. Additionally, enterprises should actively explore emerging markets, mitigate trade barriers, and navigate the risks associated with global market fluctuations to ensure stable growth in the international competitive landscape.
